Affirmations to Change Your Life

Uncategorized May 21, 2020

Hey there mamas!

I wanted to write today to share some about the power of daily affirmations and how they can positively impact your daily life, your mood, and your view of yourself and the world.

Affirmations are phrases that you say to yourself to speak truth and life. Every day we have thousands of thoughts competing for space in our minds. Some days the negative thoughts take over, things feel dark and it is hard to feel like happiness or contentment will ever come again. Using affirmations as part of your daily routine can help combat these negative thoughts and give some positive, life-giving thoughts front and center space in your mind.

When picking out affirmations for yourself it's important that you feel something when you say them. For instance, I wouldn't use a daily affirmation of "I'm a millionaire" because that is not something the evokes truth or feeling inside of me. It's okay if you have thoughts that combat your affirmation, it doesn't have to feel 100% true. It just needs to feel at least 10% true inside. The more you say it, the more you will start to find evidence for it in your daily life.

Here are some examples:

  • I am enough
  • I am a good mom
  • I love myself
  • I can do this
  • I can do hard things
  • I am powerful and strong
  • I am beautiful

Pick out one of the affirmations above, or spend some time figuring out an affirmation that resonates with you. Write it out. Post it up somewhere where you will see it multiple times per day. The cliche place is the bathroom mirror, but let's be honest, when was the last time you spend multiple times a day looking into that thing? A better place might be the refrigerator, above the coffee pot, above the diaper changing table or above the TV. Find a place you look or see often and post it up there. Every time you see it, say it OUT LOUD. Declare these words over yourself. You deserve it!

I'm here for you mama!
